James Powell, the principal surveyor, has many years of experience in the marine industry and an in depth academic background in the design, building and surveying of all types of sailing and motor yachts. 

His qualifications include Engineering BTEC from Cornwall College and an MSc (Hons) in Maritime Studies from Southampton Institute.

Powell Marine Surveyors has become a well established marine surveying practice in South Wales.

To ensure we are up to date with the latest industry developments, innovations, regulations and surveying techniques our company participates in a comprehensive ‘Continuous Professional Development’ programme organised by the Yacht Designers and Surveyors Association, YDSA.

We carry full professional indemnity insurance and operate under a strict code of conduct to ensure our clients receive a professional service.
